Update on the 2020-2021 Season and Refund Policy
February 17, 2021
Hello Hockey West Island Family.
On behalf of the Board at Hockey West Island, I wanted to update you about what remains of our 2020-2021 season, and the refund options that are in place.
While our Single-Letter, Double-Letter and Westlake seasons have not yet been officially cancelled by their respective leagues (CHL, LSL & LIFSL), it has become quite evident that we are running out of time to have any type of season at all.
Add that to the fact that we cannot even dream of playing hockey again until the doors to our arenas open, and we are left to cross our fingers and hope.
And hope we will!
But while we are still hoping for our Dorval and Pointe-Claire arenas to open, we wanted to offer options on a refund for our members should they choose to ask for a refund now, or, wait and see what happens next.
Here are the options we are offering:
1. Full 2020-21 Registration fee less $35 (less the credit card fee if you paid by credit card). The $35 dollars will allow HWI to cover pre-season expenses incurred so far for the paused 2020-21 season.
2. Leave your registration fee with HWI until September for a credit for the 2021-22 season registration. Next year will then only cost you 35$ for your basic Registration fee.
Fingers-crossed that we are able to get back on the ice at some point in the next couple of months.
If our arena doors do not open again this season, the refund in a month or two will be same as option #1 above.
If we are able to get back on the ice, for any amount of time and sessions, there would still be a refund, but just slightly modified from option #1 above.
Please consult our website registration page for the refund form: www.hockeywestisland.org/registration/
