Hᴏᴄᴋᴇʏ Wᴇsᴛ Isʟᴀɴᴅ Aɴɴᴏᴜɴᴄᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ – Nᴇᴡ Tᴇᴄʜɴɪᴄᴀʟ Tᴇᴀᴍ

Pointe-Claire/Dorval, July 4, 2023 – Hockey West Island (HWI) is excited to welcome 400 feet hockey as its new Technical Team for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Headed by Marc André Elément, Head Coach of Concordia University men’s hockey program for the past eight years and certified Hockey Canada High-Performance Coach, the team brings with it extensive coaching experience — from working with former professionals to minor hockey participants. With strong communication skills and player development backgrounds, the team has a wealth of experience and knowledge in youth development and is committed to creating a positive and enriching atmosphere while nurturing players’ skills, a team-first mentality, and a love for the game.

Working alongside Elément will be:

ALEXANDRE JACQUES, Assistant Head Coach Concordia University men’s hockey program, Detroit Red Wings draft pick (1996), skills certifications with Hockey Canada and Hockey Québec, former Technical Director with Les Seigneurs des Milles-iles (2018-2021), Skills Coach with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, QMJHL (2013-2021), and Head Coach at Académie de Hockey Joël Bouchard (2010-2021).
 
PATRICK DROLET, Assistant Coach Concordia University men’s hockey program and Hockey Canada High-Performance Certified.
 
PATRICK VILLENEUVE, former Assistant Coach Hockey West Island Double Letter teams.
 
HUGO VINCENT, Head Coach of Concordia University Division 2 men’s hockey program, Hockey Canada High-Performance Certified, Current Hockey Lac St-Louis referee elite staff director, and Assistant Coach at Collège Français Junior AAA (2021-2022).
 
JESSE GOODSELL, Hockey Canada High-Performance Certified, Hockey West Island Coach, private skills development coach, and former Assistant Coach Concordia University men’s hockey program (2015 to 2020).
 
MICHELE LAZZER, Assistant Coach Concordia University Division 2 men’s hockey program, Goaltending Coach Concordia University men’s hockey program, Italian Junior National Team Goalie Coach, Professional Goalie Coach Fassa, Italy – ALPS Hockey League (2018 to 2023), and Goaltending Coach Intense Hockey Laval (2022-2023).
 
HAROLD HERSH, Private skills development coach at various minor hockey associations, and a professional hockey player for 11 years.
The Concordia Stingers student-athletes will also be sharing their knowledge, experience, and passion for the sport with the next generation of young hockey players in a variety of roles throughout the HWI season.
